‘A couch!’: Video shows furniture flying through the air in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Powerful winds in San Francisco on Tuesday led to trees falling to the ground, a huge rig blowing around and airborne furniture crashing down on the sidewalk.

Video clip shared with Nexstar’s KRON (over) seems to exhibit a significant outside couch flying through the air and slipping to the ground as a high-rise resident observes from his condominium. The video clip, filmed by Brandon Au at Key and Folsom streets, confirmed the sofa at some point landing on the sidewalk.

“It practically hit that person,” Au can be read saying.

Tuesday’s storm blasted the San Francisco Bay Place with strong gusts and downpours, pounded Sacramento — the condition cash — with powerful hail and activated a rare tornado warning on the Southern California coastline.

In downtown San Francisco, parts of glass fell off a higher-rise.

The winds ended up so robust, a big rig overturned on the Bay Bridge, triggering a huge site visitors jam and huge delays.

A tornado warning primarily based on radar was issued for the Stage Mugu space west of Malibu through the night immediately after meteorologists warned that ailments had been favorable for developing waterspouts that could move ashore. The warning was later canceled and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office tweeted there was no proof a tornado touched down.
