Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams’ Collegiate Collab Is a Mood-Booster

Over the last couple of years, working from home has become not only a much-welcomed perk of the job but also a booming culture. That said, even after nearly three years, some remote employees are still balancing laptops on their knees or taking calls from their dining tables, a nuisance two arbiters of style are finally addressing. Today, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams and the Savannah College of Art & Design have released a collaboration of WFH-friendly furniture that just might make you excited for Monday morning.

Comprising two collections, Alba and Ella, the now-shoppable collaboration was a long time coming. Talks started back in November of 2020, and, almost two years later, the sleek and stylish pieces are here. That said, this isn’t your typical team effort between two creative forces.

The furniture purveyors joined forces with a select few of both SCAD and SCADpro (the university’s collaborative research and innovation design studio) students and professors to craft desks, chairs, and storage pieces that both bear the MGBW sense of modern luxury and are wildly innovative. Did we mention that each piece is crafted using natural and sustainably sourced materials?

The collections are like night and day—literally. Alba pieces verr dark, with a sultry oak finish, brushed stainless steel hardware, and vegan leather accents. The Ella, meanwhile, is lighter and brighter, with a brushed white oak finish and muted brass details.

Essentially, MGBW and the SCAD crew cleverly designed the same collection in two completely different looks. Both the Alba and the Ella feature two types of desks, three storage units, two sets of shelves, and a desk chair. There’s also an executive-style chair, dubbed Eva, upholstered in hand-sanded Italian leather, that pairs perfectly with either Alba or Ella.

Whether you opt for a whole collection or just a few of your favorite pieces, get ready to delete your video call background filters because your home office just got a lot more photogenic.
