PEORIA (25 News Now) – The 2023 Annual Spring Home Show continued Saturday at the Peoria Civic Center.
140 vendors from all over Illinois, some as far as Effingham, came out to meet with homeowners to discuss projects they’re working on.
Some vendors offered services like gutter replacements, Jacuzzis, windows and everyday staples like mops and fancy brooms.
It’s the largest home show in the state, put on by the Home Builders Association of Peoria, Executive Director Lisa Scott, says some homeowners come out to plan projects years in advance.
”It brings everything together here under one roof so everything for your home inside and out. most importantly you’re talking to the contractor who is going to do the work on your home. You’re not talking to a salesperson in a showroom, you’re talking to the contractor that’s going to come out and do your work.” Says Scott.
Talking to contractors personally can help them get a better idea of what they need.
A contractor out of Bloomington says, this show sets the tone for their business for the rest of the year, ”we’ll stay busy from this event for the next couple of months. People are usually pretty amped for this. You’ve been sitting all winter and you’ve been looking at the house. You hear the Home Show and they come running in here to try and figure out what to do so it’s usually a great thing for both of us.”
The home show wraps up Sunday, you can stop in from 10 to 4 p.m.
